STYLE CRUSH | TEAL OCCASSIONAL CHAIRS

I have always been drawn to the beautiful hue of teal – even more so since my velvet teal sofa arrived from M&S last month (take a sneak peek here). So recently I’ve been looking at more ways to introduce this colour throughout my home. Teal is one of those really versatile colours which works in so many interior design schemes and a colour that everyone seems to like. – I mean, Marrs Green did just get voted the World’s favourite colour.

A great and subtle way to introduce bold colours into our home décor is by investing in unique pieces. An occasional chair is a perfect option. Occasional chairs are generally a great purchase for the home as they prove to be timeless pieces of furniture. You can style them in endless ways and pretty much move them around your house to your hearts content.

In this blog post, I want to briefly explain why teal is such a great colour to use within our homes, as well as the most gorgeous teal occasional chairs currently available from the high street and online.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT TEAL

Teal is a combination of blue and green. They are the two colours (light wavelengths) where our eyes need little to no adjusting; therefore we translate this to mean balance and restful.

Plus there are huge benefits through styling this colour throughout our home décor:

Green is considered the most restful colour for the eye and is suited for almost any room on the house. Introduced in a family room or living room, green encourages unwinding but has enough warmth to lift comfort and togetherness whilst proven to help relieve stress.

Blue is considered calming, relaxing and serene. Teal, classified as a warmer blue can encourage relaxation in social areas such as family rooms, living rooms or large kitchens.

There you have it, my top teal occasional chairs. A few of these gorgeous chairs are definitely more of an extravagant purchase but they are classic pieces of interior design and will also make an enormous impact in your space for years to come.

So are you teal obsessed like me? Or just generally a fan of the occasional chair? I’d love to know in the comments below…x

I love teal too – it’s such a versatile colour! I’m completely smitten with the Sweetpea & Willow trapezium chair, it’s beautiful – if only I could justify the price tag ; )

Thanks Jade. It was definitely hard whittling down to 8 chairs as there were so many beautiful ones to choose from. I definitely think we can justify a cocktail chair to our other halves 🙂 xx

It was so hard to pick my eight favourites but of course velvet had to featured. I think (and hope!) that velvet is here to stay 🙂 xx
